Amplifying Contagious John!

This Sketch of John the Apostle looks like a jealous lover right? lmao

Qualities of a phlegmatic; Humble personality, relaxed, well-balanced consistent in life, possess 'hideous emotions', confident, competent, mediates problem, easy to get along with, have many friends, have compassion, good listener, do not like to offend good listeners, possess a biting sense of humour.

As a phlegmatic,
*John possessed 'top-notch' level of humility

This could be evidenced through his writing. He intentionally didn't want the limelight aimed at his direction, so he subscribed entirely to report writing technique. e.g John 21:20 "Turning his head, Peter noticed the disciple Jesus loved following right behind him."

Also, he was from a wealthy family. His family business at the time was fishing which was a popular means of livelihood at the time. The distinguishing feature of their wealth can be evidenced in Mark 1:19-20 "They were in the boat, mending their fish nets. Right off, he made the same offer. Immediately, they left their father Zebedee, the boat, and the hired hands, and followed him." They were rich enough to hire extra hands to help mend their fishing net. *Only the wealthy could that luxury at the time.

However, that didn't stop himself and his brother, James, from honouring the request of Jesus to become His disciples. The was expressed by their apt response for service. To also support this stance, his mum Salome, bought spices for Jesus' burial {Mark 16:1}.

*John was a trusted friend

His level of sincerity and pure-heartedness caused Jesus to love him even more. He was prominent in the life of Jesus. He was Jesus' confidant. John 21:20 categorically states how Peter noticed John following Jesus behind.
{John 13:25} "Peter motioned to him to ask who Jesus might be talking about. So being the closest, he asked, 'Master who?' Jesus said, 'the one to whom I give this crust of bread after I've dipped it." Jesus loved John unconditionally, no one could obviously contest the slot.
[Notice how 'Sparky (Sanguine) Peter' motioned  at John to source for amebo. lol. Peter was a genius abeg!]

*John was well learned

Even though he did not obtain any rabbinical training, he took it upon himself to study the scriptures. His apt writing skill was different from the rest because he expressed his thoughts in a deep experimental way. John 1:1-2~ "The word was first, the word present to God, God present to the word. The word was God, in readiness for God from day one." Only a genius can pull that solidified scriptural stunt right?

*John's hideous emotions couldn't go unnoticed by all

He loved Jesus dearly but tried not rob it on the faces of others even though they were fully aware of his 'gum body' nature.

*John was a zealous and jealous lover of Jesus all in one

The other disciples lost their cool at John and his brother James when they tried to ask if they were eventually going to sit at the right and left hand of God respectively in eternal glory. Jesus succeed in settling the surging dispute between John and the other disciples.{Peep Mark 16: 35-41 for the run down}. Notwithstanding, he stood by Jesus before death, at death and after death.

*John gave credit accordingly as at when due

Dating back to the time before his selection as 'disciple of Jesus,' He was recommended to Jesus by John the Baptist. John the baptist was his mentor and companion before the fame that tagged along with being a disciple of Jesus.
Notably, he followed the steps of his mentor and gave credit accordingly to whom credit was due: just like he did in the case of Paul. He endorsed Paul by acknowledging God's grace upon him.

*John moved in the company of elites

Like the saying, 'show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are', John moved in the company of scholars and elites, and the greatest which was Jesus, even though he (John) was 5 years younger than Jesus having started his missionary work at age 25. This caused him to be grounded in the teachings and posses high level of maturity in the dissemination of the gospel.  This in turn enabled him to gain powerful influence in the early church at Jerusalem.

*John was compassionate

His love for the eternal movement and humanity earned him the title "Apostle of love" He fought so hard to carry the people along and taught them to live and act in the way of love. {1John 4: 18-19} "There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us." He was such a Lover Man!

*John was disciplined

He remained single his entire life by subscribing wholly to celibacy. This was to enable him dedicate his all to service and humanity. After the miracle where he survived the boiling oil, Emperor Domitian sentenced him to exile. While exiled on the Isle of Patmos, he wrote the book of Revelations. Being sent off as an outcast didn't seem depressing to him. The Holy Spirit guided him in the journey. When he returned, he bounced back even stronger starting some churches in Asia and growing the ministry until his death. He fought till the end.

In summary, John was an in-depth lover, a friend in need and indeed, well mannered and groomed, loved to work behind the scene, succeeded in turning souls over to God (in large numbers). More so, he had his weaknesses which includes; intolerance, jealousy and tendencies to act revengeful but with discipline, he emerged a conqueror.
~John also had a splash of Melancholy smitten all over.
